Sasha Samochina (sam-ocean-uh) is an award-winning creative director, technologist, and artist. She joined the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory team after working in New York in video and web development and in Chicago, where she was a Media Producer at The Field Museum of Natural History. After dreaming up content for JPL's Communications department, she began to explore the world of 360 videos and Extended Reality (XR). Through Sasha's visualization skills, she pioneered the first-ever 360° video release on NASA's social media. Sasha led the research, development, and design work in innovation and XR and created JPL's first Data Visualization and Infusion department. Sasha is interested in using her experience in immersive and interactive design and development to solve technical problems in a sustainable, accessible, and educational way. She is currently the Founder and CEO of some-thing Company and the Executive Director of some-thing Foundation. With some-thing, Sasha creates experiences incorporating innovative forms of visualization that aid people in transforming how they see their process and the world around them. She leverages that same experiential knowledge to educate and inspire the public to engage in STEAM.
